Anastacia Giron Tupas Recipient (2007)

Since 2004, no one was qualified for the Anastacia Giron Tupas (AGT) award among the 92 local and 9 international chapters until this year. The last of its awardee was Dr. Cleopatra Aquino....

DR. HO, AGT AWARDEE AT NATIONAL PNA CONVENTION IN CDO

It is with great honor that my colleague- Dr. Milabel Ho, was awarded the Anastacia Giron Tupas Award among all others last October 2007 at the National PNA Convention in Cagayan de Oro City. Moreover, she has always been a leader and an achiever since elementary until her doctorate years. She had graduated valedictorian in elementary, salutatorian in high school and highest honors in college. In addition, she is the first Philippine representative of the PNA to the Global Congress of World Health Allied Professionals in Geneva, Switzerland. Also, she is a multi-awarded personality in the fields of education and in various nursing organizations in the Philippines.

The Anastacia Giron Tupas Award honors the founder of the Filipino Nurses Association (former name of the Philippine Nurses Association). This award is the highest and the most prestigious honor given by the Philippine Nurses Association to a distinguished nurse who has contributed to the progress of nursing in our country. In addition, the nominee must not get a rating lower than 85% from the PNA Search Committee. Therefore, it takes thorough search, screening and interviews of nominated applicants all over the country.
