The Ten Commandments of Blogging

I have read this from candymag way back 2005 and I thought of sharing this blog etiquettes with you… btw, these rules had been circulating around the web so in case you haven’t read them yet, here’s a REFRESHER and at the same time a REMINDER.

Keep these rules in mind before publishing in cyberspace..

10 Commandments of Blogging:

1. BE TACTFUL.

It’s ok to rant a little when you’re angry or sad,

but don’t whine or complain too much--

it can make you seem self-absorbed.

2. BE RESPONSIBLE.

Although most of your visitors know you personally,

your blog is also available to strangers.

What may sound normal to you

maybe offensive to other people.

3. BE RESPECTFUL.

Dont copy other bloggers entries or photos without permission.

Dont imitate a fellow bloggers writing style.

4. BE YOUR OWN PERSON.

Dont make up stories to make your life

seem more interesting.

Be unique, creative and original.

5. LANGUAGE REFLECTS ON THE KIND OF PERSON YOU ARE.

Exercise freedom of speech,

but remain mindful of your own words.

Profanity isnt cool.

6. KNOW WHAT AND WHAT NOT TO SHARE.

Be careful not too give out

too much info about yourself.

7. NEVER POST YOUR HOME ADDRESS AND CONTACT NUMBERS.

They can leave messages at

the comment link if they wish to contact you.

8. DO NOT GIVE OUT YOUR FULL NAMES AND CONTACT INFO.

Protect those you know as much as

you would protect yourself.

9. THE MORE ELABORATE THE TECHNOLOGY, THE MORE ELABORATE THE CRIMES.

Be wary of thieves who try to plagiarize your work.

10. MAKE YOUR JOURNAL AS MEANINGFUL AS POSSIBLE.

Blogs are meant to be stress relievers,

but do make a conscious effort to post entries

that are still worth reading.

ARTISANURSE RULES AND REGULATIONS!

Be respectful of other chatters.

Do not use race or religion to disrespect others.

Defamatory, vulgarity, libelous, hateful, pornographic, profane or obscene language is strictly prohibited. Using asterisks or other symbols in place of letters does not excuse anyone from using such words.

Offensive and indecent user names are prohibited.

Impersonation of others or another chat participant is forbidden.

Harassment of another person online is not permitted.

Members cannot select names that are offensive in nature.

Joking and having fun are permitted provided that it does not interfere others' opinion.

No spamming the forum or chat room with advertisements of any type.

Conversation should be kept on Tagalog or English text, unless there is someone in the chatroom understands another language and does not violates the rules, then this too is allowed.

Artisanurse admins has the right to edit the chat transcript and remove text for any reason or for not reason at all.

Anyone who violates the above mentioned rules will:

First Offense- Receive a warning

Second Offense- Will put on silence

Third Offense- Ban may be implemented depending on the gravity of the offense.

Appendix:

Chatters who are seen repeatedly attempting to provoke chatters and admins, may be considered as violating the rules as well.

The rules, articles and appendices found on this site are subject to change without any further notices. Any modification may take effect immediately on being designed, not on them being added on the list.

The rules are to be considered the listing of what is allowed and partly what is not allowed.
